The Grand Highlander will retain both the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine and a 2.5-liter hybrid from the Toyota Highlander, but will also get a new hybrid powertrain based around the turbocharged 2.4-liter.
In place of the V6 engine, the 2023 Highlander will get the turbocharged 4-cylinder, but Toyotas popular SUV from the company will mostly stay the same.
All of the 2023 Toyota Highlander gasoline models are now equipped with the 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 265 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. The 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the 2023 Highlander makes 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
This engine gives you 265 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, meaning that you will get a bit more torque than what is found in the outgoing V6 model.
The fuel economy ratings of this new powertrain are 25 miles per gallon overall, and this midsize triple-row car shows 50 percent less tailpipe emissions compared with the outgoing V6. According to Toyota, Toyota Highlander can reach up to a combined 25 MPG thanks to its turbocharged 4 Cylinder.
